Default Weird Emails - 10-20-2007, 09:00 PM

I had to resend my service books, now I'm getting weird emails every 20 minutes or so. They are from [email address]
The message says: This message is used to carrry data between the Blackberry handhel and server...

I've never received these before, now I'm getting a ton of them. I'm on a BIS with AT&T

Nope, that's not it. I'm not using re-director (first thing I thought of). Really haven't done anything different. I've been using BIS since I got my 8800; just starting getting these emails this morning.

Did you install (or reinstall) Desktop Manager?

I don't know what else it could otherwise.

If you did reinstall DM as NJ is wondering, you might have clicked on Redirector by mistake?

The only thing I do w/ DM is synch every day for calendar and contact updates and didn't even do that today. Very weird.

I think something else may need to be added to that FAQ. Sometimes, as in a situation I experienced recently, simply re-installing Desktop Manager doesn't always work.

I found that I had to uninstall Desktop Manager, delete EVERY service book on my BB, then re-install Desktop Manager with the correct settings (BIS in this case) and plug in the BB to have to move the necessary service books. I thought that the BB only got service books OTA but this is not the case.

You might want to try deleting your service books and then re-registering with the network. Takes a few minutes only and it's worth a try.

Worth a try, how do i do it. I'm in Service books under options but I don't see an option to delete the books.

Options > Advanced > Service Books.
Highlight over one service book you wish to delete.
Click MENU, scroll to DELETE.

There ya go.

After you've deleted them, one by one, then go to Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table. Click on Host Routing Table, then hit the menu button, and click "Register Now". I do believe Cingular/AT&T will automatically send your sevice books. With T-Mobile you have to log into your BIS page from your computer and send your service books that way.

AND, you will need to pull the battery and reboot the BB, often, for the Service Books to be 'installed' to your BB.
