Default How to disable power-on key lock - 10-23-2007, 08:08 AM

When I switch on my 8800, it asks me to unlock the keys.
Is there any way to disable this? I've searched all the menus but couldn't find a setting.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Go into options>security>general options>lock handheld upon holstering = off

See if that works

Sorry but I have already tried that. Doesn't matter if it's yes or no. It still locks the keys. Might there be another setting working in conjunction with lock handheld upon holstering?

Is this a company owned BB they gave you? If so, then there's a policy in place that does this. You can't change that unless you remove the policy.

Thx for the info. It is indeed a company owned BB. However, I'm the owner of the company therefore I should be the one to decide on policies. How can this policy be removed? Do you have any idea?

Are you using a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES)? If so, the admin you've hired to maintain it can change the setting. Otherwise, you'll need to describe how you've set the device up.

This behaviour is controlled in the Security settings and/or via a BES
