Post 8830 Calendar and Outlook appointments off by an hour - 10-31-2007, 09:56 AM

Users are experiencing problems with setting appointments on their 8830's and having them come up as a different time in outlook. A user will set an appointment on their blackberry at 12pm and on their outlook calendar it will show up at 1pm. Anyone have any ideas? We have already applied the DST patch to our exchange server and client machines and are currently using version 4.2.2.123(Platform 3.0.064) on the blackberry 8830's.

Welcome to MY world! I had the same thing happen, and it was a wee bit painful to fix. I contacted RIM on Monday and they confirmed the Sprint 8830 *should* have the patch built in. Lucky me, it wasn't working properly.

Here is what I had to do to fix it.

It's funny to me that the whole "Y2K" issue was world-wide news, but then the U.S. Congress just unilaterally changes the timing of daylight savings with very little apparent thought given to how it might effect communications systems.

I went through a kind of a nightmare last year...

Congress blows.

I spent almost 2 hours with Blackberry support and they finally said that I needed to have my IT people contact them to work out any issues with the exchange server. Do you really want to know how I solved the problem???? I donwloaded the Daylight Savings Time patch for my laptop from Microsoft.com and installed it! That's it! I no longer have that problem. THis happened yesterday. Let me know if this helps.

Sounds to me like you had a DST issue with your PC and not the BB. Funny you didn't notice your time being wrong on your PC to begin with.

You're correct, my PC had the correct time, but something funky was happening!
