Default Selected Device Supporting Dial Up Connection - 11-06-2007, 06:54 AM

I have a Verizon 8830 Blackberry. When I initiate the Application Loader, I get the message, "The selected device is supporting a dial up connection. End this connection and try Application Loader again." Application Loader will not start until this connection is closed.

Could anyone tell me how I end the Dial Up Connection? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Does it happen even after the computer is rebooted?

Yes. I've tried a reboot on the computer and a hard reset on the Blackberry. Nothing, so far, seems to get rid of the Dial up connection.

Angry Any Help Is Greatly Appreciated!!! - 11-07-2007, 06:48 AM

I've narrowed the problem down to TeleNav I've decided to use. It supports Dial up Networking, but I don't know how to diable it. I've turned off Bluetooth, but that didn't solve the problem. As it stands, I can't load anything onto my 8830 until the problem gets resolved.

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Have you contacted TeleNav's support about this to see what they say?

Thumbs up 11-08-2007, 06:53 PM

l researched the RIM FAQ and found the fix. For anyone that might find it helpful here it is:

1. On Windows Desktop, click Start
2. Go to My Computer and right click.
3. Choose Properties
4. In System Properties, Choose Hardware Tab
5. Choose Device Manager
6. Go to Ports and expand
7. Disable ALL RIM Virtual Serial Ports
8. Restart Computer

This fixed the problem for me.
