Default Vibration patterns for 8830? - 11-07-2007, 02:55 AM

Is there a way to set different vibration patterns for different events such as IM, email, etc?

Ring tones is completely useless for me, so only way for me to know is via vibrations.

Yes, go to your profiles and you'll see the option to tone or vib for each type of notification you have.

Sorry I meant that ability to set different STYLE of vibration. For example, in sidekick, if I set a ringtone and set mute, it will use ringtone to create vibration pattern. That have enabled me to tell what arrived, from AIM messages to emails, so I can ignore the type I want.

as an exaple I believe he means vibration patterns like this:

phone call: long long long
SMS: short long short
email: short short long

etc...

I dont know of any way to do this unfortunately.

Darn I wish I could program one with hooks into vibration motor, with code that reads ringtones and converts it into different vibration patterns. I'm sure it's very doable, just that I don't know programming enough to do it.

Basically it would control settings that can convert any speaker output into vibration, with extra option to block actual speaker output or not. It would rock. :D
