Default holster for the 8830? - 11-09-2007, 01:54 AM

I was reading on seidio online and saw that they have a skin and holster combo, thing is, it also says that it has a "sleeper function"...does anyone have one? or know what this function is? Also, I am getting the BSE (best skins ever) put on the phone, if I get this skin and holster, do you all think it would fit? Thanks in advance...

I understand correctly...

The 8830 (at least my Sprint one did) comes with a holster. When you put the 8830 in the holster, a magnet signals to the Blackberry that it's in "holster" mode and you can tell the Blackberry to act in certain ways (e.g., go into a standby mode, have a different alert profile, etc.).

Only some third party holsters have this magnet, to activate this option. It sounds like this particular product has that magnet.

Is this what you're talking about? Or did I misunderstand?

I've got the Seidio holster and ultra thin rubberized hard shell. Several of my co-workers have this same setup. It works great and has the same sleep functionality as the OEM holster that come with the 8830.

It is see-through on the front, and rubberized black on the back, and the swivel holster is specifically designed for the Hybrid hard case. Include a top notch screen protector, and this is all you will need to protect your BB.
