I have seen that this is possible but i am having trouble with the pairing stage of the process. When i pair it with my Mac i get no option to use it as a modem. It just says it found no services configurable with this device. It happens with the 8700 as well.

Anyone know why this is happening? how i can remedy it?

If you are a tmobile user, the instructions in the link referenced in the previous sentence are off a bit - the user name is "guest" and the password is "guestguest". I have used this successfully with a Powerbook G4 running tiger and a macbook running leopard. Good luck!
