Everyone, since I upgraded my 8830 to the latest software alot of my custom settings disappeard causing me to have to reinput alot of things. I have forgotten how to do a couple.

1. When I delete emails it used to have an option to "delete on device" or "delete on device and ???" I cant remember the exact words. It only gives me the option to delete or cancel now?????

2. I cannot remember how to set my homepage on BB's default web browser.

Thanks!

Hi Jeremy,

From the messages window hit the button left of the trackball, scroll down to options-email reconciliation and turn Delete ON: to Prompt.

From the web browser go to the menu button, select options-browser configuration-Home Page Address:

I hope that helps.

Randy

Randy, regarding the email issue.....the only option I have after I choose "options" is "general options" and there is no "email reconciliation"

regarding the browser, it will not allow me to edit the line item???

Bare with me, what am I doing wrong?

On Verizon the new BIS only update kills the email rec button ... That feature only worked on BES anyway.

Those settings should be there for your email accounts. Also, they do work on BIS accounts but usually just from the handheld to the mailbox. If you delete on the handheld you can also delete from the mailbox. This works fine on most BIS accounts.

It sounds like you may need to resend the service books. Go to the Verizon BIS site and resend them.

I ran the utility again on my PC (8830EFS_PBr4.2.2_rel339_PL3.0.0.79_A4.2.2.176) and chose the option to repair. It didnt seem to do anything. Is there something I need to do additional?

BES versus BIS.....I assume BES is the Blackberry Enterprise System of which I am not a part of.

HELP

A battery pull helped the browser homepage issue but still nothing on the email issue.

Did you resend your service books? Go to the same place where you setup your email accounts initially and resend the service books from there. You can use the Verizon BIS website or use the "setup internet email" icon on your BB.
