Is there a way to move my saved messages to my micro-SD card? The 8800 acknowledged the card when installed but I have not been able to see where it has increased my memory. I also cannot see an icon or anything for the SD card. Any help would be appreciated.

Go into Options. There should be an item on the list for "Media Card." Select it. Your items should read:
Media Card Support - On
Encryption Mode: (Your choice)
Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected: Yes

Your total space and free space available should be listed at the bottom of the page.

I've added some music to mine and, according to the Media Manager (Roxio), the files are stored on the card.

Maybe someone else on the forum has been successful in storing their mail files on the card.

Agree with John. Not possible to store email. The only things that I know of that can go there are music and ring tones, and perhaps some files that you want to store but not access on the BB.

so, is it only possible to only store "media" files on the media card? I want to dump my iPod and use my bberry, but it would also be good to store important .doc on there to bluetooth or look at when required: any help here would be good. Why can't RIM allow us to use it like a media card inserted into a laptop or such-like?

My guess is the government and corporate guys didn't want it that way for security reasons.

All you can store is media, and I did forget to add, photos.

As this question was asked and answered already I was sure the answer was no. But I have a releated question, maybe you can help. Does 4.2.2, 4.3 or a (soon) upcoming OS allow the use of saving information to the memory card (other than media files)? The reason I asked is our memory cards were disabled by policy and the reason they gave is they didn't want sensitive informaiton being transferred to the memory card.

At the risk of being presumptuous, I'll give one possible response. The card is still a potential security risk in that you could copy files to the card using Windows Explorer when connected via cable to a PC. You reason for doing so might be quiite innocent -- wanting to take an important spreadsheet home to work on it -- but if the BB was lost or stolen the person in possession of the BB could simply remove the card, plug it into any reader, and have access to the sensitive material.

Might it be a bit of overkill on the security department? Perhaps, but it is their BB and BES.
