Default Best Bluetooth for 8830? - 11-23-2007, 07:47 PM

I have a 8830 with Bell
I am looking for real world user feedback as to the best BT headset?
I don't have the greatest hearing and don't have a deep booming voice so I am looking for something that has great volume and a strong mic
Any help greatly appreciated

There is a current thread about one of the top-rated bluetooth headsets on the market:

Everyone is raving about the Jawbone. I bought a Plantronics 655 Bluetooth.
Works great, Sounds Great, but I am really wondering if I should have bought the Jawbone.

Default Mixed feelings on your question. - 11-23-2007, 09:50 PM

I have tried repeatedly but have had terrible results using the Blackberry Voice Dialing without Bluetooth. In my opinion, it really doesn't work. Of course I have over 2400 contacts with multiple numbers in my contact list which makes it a very slow process to find the right contact and then most of the time it does not finde the right contact.

When I use the Bluetooth Earpiece it works or doesn't work just as well. The volue is good, the sound is good, the battery life on the Plantronics is good but Voice dialing does not work either with or without the Earpiece. Of course that is my opinion.

all bt sets have tradeoffs but I found the Jawbone best compared to my stable

motorola hs850 - convenient (use mostly with pearl)
Nxzen 5000 - very good
Jawbone - best

the above used with my 8100, 8700c, 8703e, 8830

I use a Motorola H700. I got it because of the simple connect/disconnect ability. All you need to do is flip the mic open/closed to pair and unpair. Makes it a snap to switch between bluetooth and handset during a call.

I'm a fan and of the Jawbone works great, but just got the gennum ZEN 350 from ecost for $10 very comfortable, and nobody has made comments about issues hearing me etc? plenty loud enough also

Its been out for a while, looks a little different but again comfortable, was ALOT more money orginally I thought $200-250 when it 1st came out.

Only thing different from Jawbone, jawbone auto connects to bluetooth when powered up, the zen you have to hit a side button and way you go.

Bluetooth Accessories - Noise-Shield DSP Bluetooth Headset (Z-350) (Gennum) - eCOST.com - electronics, computers, laptops, mp3 players

*they also have the jawbone at $77

I have a pair. Excellent for music. I rarely use them for phone calls though, unless it is a long conference call and I can't find my H700.

I just got the Moto H12. Small light and the sound is quite good for my deaf ears.
