Default Setting up time - 12-06-2007, 09:40 PM

I am located in Boston,MA
What is the time zone that I am to set my BB?

I also noticed that the time is set two different ways:

In the Options

And

In the Setup wizard

Thanks for the help.

Boston is in the Eastern time zone, and it doesn't matter which way you set it - either Options or Setup Wizard will work.

A tip that many don't know:

- Go to Options >> Date/Time >> Date/Time Source

If you set it to "Network", it should use your local service provider to determine the local time (meaning it will automatically change if you travel to a new time zone). Handy for travelers.

That's incorrect....Blackberry devices never change timezones automatically.

Oh. Well, I misread the FAQ because that's where I got the info. Totally missed the statement that says very clearly that it does not automatically change the time zone.

I read this...
Quote:
Network - Synchronizes the time (minutes) with your service provider's local network time.
...to mean that it synchs it with MY THEN LOCAL time.

Bummer that it doesn't do that. Especially when my stupid Nextel Blackberry did (7510 I think) years ago...

I knew that was coming.
I had it coming.

But I am trying to set a standard.

Because my times seem to be off in different applications.

So the option I should be choosing for Boston, is Eastern (-5)
