Default HELP blackberry 8820 HELP - 12-07-2007, 07:30 AM

Hi guys i bought a blackberry 8820 off ebay from the uk (im in australia) altho it is a orange phone, and i bought a orange simcard and when i turn the phone on it says handheld lock, and i have 10 trys for the pin, altho ive used seven, ive even tried my vodafone simcard and it still wont work, what code do i need to put in there ? is that like a carrier lock or has the previous owner put the lock on? if so how can i reset it? is there some way of reseting it by reinstalling its program or something ? or some reset button on the phone i dont know, please help asap, Thanks.....

That is a password the previous owner put in. If you enter the incorrect password three more times it will just wipe the information on the device, which shouldn't be an issue. And the password will be gone. So go ahead and type in the wrong password three more times. Then you should be able to use it.

Sounds like the owner had a lock. Do the 10 times and the unit will erase all the info. Start fresh from there!

ok thats fixed now thanks heaps, now i need a carrier unlock code, can anyone help me out for one ? free of course :D

No freebies; sorry. The only freebies are from the carriers, and since you are not an Orange customer, they won't help.

Contact one of the commercial unlockers (GSMPhoneSource is one, there are others) and see if they can help.

Hey thanks for that mate, ill give it a go, would the guys on ebay do the trick ? its like 30 aud ? is that a good price ? also where could i download its driver and software for the phone.....
