At the top of each forum, there are sticky threads with the latest version.

In the 8800, I found this!

Good luck.

I currently have v4.2.2.123. Will this new version (.336) work on a 8830 with Sprint? What would be the benefit of an upgrade? Would it resolve the background noise issue?

Thanks

I just signed on to the mysprint page and no, an upgrade is not listed at this time. 4.2.2.123 is mine also right now. so nothing newer from sprint just now.

So upgrades are carrier specific?

All handheld code is written by RIM, and tested and released by the carrier. You can out any 8830 code, regardless of which carrier released it, onto any 8830.

Worst thing you have to do is run JL_CMDER to totally wipe it out if you have problems. Many, many people run and OS not released by their carrier.

I'm on Sprint, is this why?

It won't show .336 ... that's the package version.
The BlackBerry will report the Applications version which is .176

I haven't noticed any changes/improvements. I was most concerned about background noise but have not been able to ask someone yet, all calls so far are customers.
The upgrade processed fine, absolutly no issues.
