Default Southwest Airlines Site using 8830 - 12-08-2007, 06:42 PM

I was hoping someone would browse to Southwest Airlines using their 8830 and try to see if they could set the departure city and arrival city using their BB 8830 browser. If I highlight the departing city to book a flight, I can't get the drop-down to activate. Am I doing something wrong or is it a flaw in their site design. Surely, they plan this site with BB users in mine.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I wasn't able to get the drop down boxes to work either on southwest.com. Opera Mini did work. I'm not sure if you'll be able to make all the way through the purchasing process with Opera Mini. I have no reason to believe it won't work, just haven't tried it before.

I was trying this on my 8320 and it seemed to work for me. Once I highlighted the departure city box I press the ALT key and then it brings up the list of the cities. Same thing for the departure date and month. Don't know if it will work the same for the 8830, though.

Default Mini Opera with Verizon - 12-09-2007, 11:46 AM

The alt button did not work on the 8830 and Mini Opera apparently is not supported on the Verizon phones (from Operas website)
Any other ideas??

Just booked a flight on my 8830 and all went well! I did not have to do anything different than on the laptop website. I simply clicked the pearl button as I needed to make choices. When choosing departing and destination cities, I simply clicked the pearl and the city lists opened up for me to chose. Other than finding it some what difficult to read the times and prices (but it is easy to figure out) it went fairly well. I had no idea I could do this until a read this thread.

Best of luck!

I have never been able to use their site to book or check flight status really either...... the boxes never let me change/scroll at all on my 8830. Really annoying.

Default Check flight status - 12-10-2007, 03:54 PM

It's not the booking of the flight. It is the "Check flight status" that is the problem.

Thanks to all. It looks like they need to tweak their site a bit.

it might not be supported officially but I am running Opera on my VZ 8830 with no problems, just wish that my phone recognized it as my default browser.
