Default 8820, Keyboard Lock Short-Cut? - 12-09-2007, 12:16 PM

Hey folks -

I've been poking around the various docs available for the 8820, but I've had no luck in finding this. Is there a short-cut to lock the 8820's keyboard? I don't use the holster, so it doesn't matter whether I set it to lock in the holster automatically or not (I just slide it into my pocket). I'd like to tap or old a key, lock the keybd, and then put it away.

Is that possible with this model?

Thanks!

jas

Yes - if you have disabled Dialing from the Home Screen (done in the phone dialer options) then you can lightly press the "k" key to lock it. Pressing and holding the "k" key will start the Speed Dial function.

On my 8800, pressing the mute button on the top of the phone puts it in standby mode and the keys are locked until you press it again. I like that better.

You can also set the convenience key on the side to lock the keyboard too...

Options > Screen/Keyboard > Convenience Key Opens: Keyboard Lock

This would work best for me.
