Question Red stripes/Blue stripes - 12-10-2007, 06:39 AM

Hi folks - kind of new to the world of Blackberries so bear with me! I have my 8800 set so that e-mails and SMS messages are all shown in 'Messages'. So far so good... I just opened Meesages this morning and, for some reason, the e-mails now have diagonal red and white stripes as a background and my SMS messages have diagonal bluie and white stripes as a background.

I've searched the HTML user guide and the FAQ here and can't find anything which might tell me if this means that there's something amiss (which I don't think there is) or how to switch this off.

Any pointers you can give me would be gratefully received

H

Thanks for the response Mr Dawg. No I don't have jlcommander but, predictably, once I posted this question, I figured out what was going on.
'Someone' - step forward 14 yr old son - had been fiddling with it. Options>Security Options>General Settings allows you to alter Message Background Colours to differentiate between messages from an Enterprise server i.e my work e-mails and Other messages i.e SMS messages. 'Someone'had set these to red and blue respectively.

Anyone interested in a trade for a slightly damaged 14 year old boy? Anything considered.

Options - Security - General Settings - Message Background Colors. Set it to none...

This 'feature' not available on BIS attached Blackberries?
I'm running a sprint 8830 and I can't find any setting for message colors. I would like to set a few colors up like this.

Don't know about BIS, but if this option is not there, don't sweat it. The colors are hideous and distracting. Big, wide, diagonal, single-color stripes appear behind the text of the e-mail. It's incredibly distracting, and not the least bit aesthetically pleasing...
