The background I'm using is 100 x 75 and it fills the screen.

that doesn't seem right... i'm pretty sure the 8700 was 320x240?

8700=8300=8800=320x240

thanks, i'll try it again. there are white borders on mine, but i may have it wrong.

320x240 fills my screen

sometimes that happens to me, if your using a jpeg to set as your wallpaper, instead of clicking on the thumbnail, open/view the picture in it's entirity and then select as wallpaper, this should get rid of the white borders.
