I'm trying to figure out how to install the 8830e Device Software into an older version of the Desktop Manager (4.2.1.8). Although everything is working correctly, my BBDM states that the only device software installed is the 7130e which was my old phone. When I cable my BB to my PC the PIN # listed on the bottom of BBDM reflects my new phone, but the correct device software is not loaded into BBDM. I've tried using the application loader and synchronizing steps to no avail...
Additionally, I've gone to the blackberry website and found the device software for newer versions of BBDM, but nervous that would cause problems for older versions of BBDM. Sprint tells me they don't have the device software for "older" versions of BBDM although I know their techical group has to have it somewhere. Can you tell me how to get the 8830 device software imported into the Blackberry Desktop Manager for the version of BBDM that I'm using?
Here is instructions to verify what is already installed (

Here are instructions on how to install the device software using the Application Loader (
BlackBerry Search Results, but when I go through the steps the application loader does not show software on my device to load.
If you follow the breadcrumbs it tells you to go to your service providers website to download the device software (

However, what I find is that the software available for Sprint in North America is for the newer versions of the BB Desktop Mgr... (eg, 4.2.2 and greater)
Again, Sprint doesn't know how to get device software for older versions and my company doesn't yet support the newest version of BBDM, so I just need the 8830e Device Software from Sprint for BB Desktop Mgr 4.2.1.8. Any clues? Thanks!
