Default Message Alert Question - 12-11-2007, 04:05 PM

I understand that all email's are put in the general messages folder and then duplicated to the individual email account folders I have set up. My question, can I set up an alerts/new message indicator for only the email account folders and not the messages folder? Currently I must open both messages and my BES account email in order to change the unread messages status.

Basically what I'm asking is can you turn off all notifications for the messages folder and still get notifications for BES/POP email accounts?

Thanks!
Brian

I think you can do this for Audio notifications (in the profiles). I don't think you can customize the visual indicator based on the account.

I don't think you can have the visual notification for one folder, and not another.

Last I checked (at least this is how it works for me) the Messages folder is just a "combo" of SMS (if you didn't separate) and email from all email accounts configured for the phone. If you open in Messages or in the Email Account folder it reflects in both places. I display the messages folder as well, but I could easily just hide that icon and not worry about it since SMS is separated on my options.
