I just noticed yesterday that when I am on the phone with a bluetooth ear piece mail does not arrive. As soon as I hang up mail starts to pour in.

Is this normal behavior ?

Yep it is normal.
Data won't transmit while you are on the phone. SMS messages will, however.

It has nothing to do with you using a Bluetooth ear piece, it has to do with you are using the phone. Your Blackberry can not receive or send email while using the phone.
