Default 8830 4GB SD shows links to images only - 02-24-2008, 02:10 PM

I just purchased and installed a new 4GB SD card on my 8830. I had copied some images to the card on my PC before inserting it into the 8830. When I view pictures, most of the files are appearing as only links, only 2 of my pictures are appearing as thumbnails. When I click to view the linked files, it takes a long time to view the pictures (about 20+ seconds). Any ideas?

Looks like there is a limitation on the filesizes. The 2 images that are appearing as thumbnails are <2MB. Files that are > 2MB appear as link icons. Does anyone know if this is an OS limitation? Can it be overridden?

Is there a limit to the size of memory card that can be put in the 8830's?

Yes, I think it's 4 GB. That's what I have in mine.

Yes...4GB limit on the SD card. BUT, what is the max limit on a jpg/gif file? Looks like 2MB is the limit for viewing pictures as thumbnails, anything bigger than 2MB appears as a linked-file and no visible thumbnail!

That is incorrect, I have pics on my 8830 sd card that is 3MB and it shows up as a thumbnail without any worries.
