Default 8800 Headset Wiring Diagram - 02-25-2008, 11:31 AM

Does anyone have a wiring schematic of the wired headset compatible with the BB 8800 (3 pin 2.5mm plug)? I'm specifically interested in how the momentary switch (answer button) is wired into the microphone circuit, allowing it to answer and end calls. I've taken apart the headset that came with my 8820 and there's a small integrated circuit containing the microphone and the momentary push button (as I suspected). However, the circuit is more complex than I had previously thought and I can't map it. Possible because of noise reduction circuitry? Which I wouldn't need.
Like I said, I'm really only interested in how the button is hooked up to the mic. Why? Because I'm going to rig up a hands free set in on old phone, but I want to retain the function of the answer button.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also am I correct in assuming that the pinout for the 8800 plug is: Tip=Speaker, Middle=Mic, Base=Ground?
