Are you connected directly to the PC or laptop or through a USB hub? This can ocur when there is not enough voltage going to the BlackBerry.

Try a different USB port.

I have an 8830 and have the same problem only I am trying to charge mine with the wall charger.
I just got a new Amzer 1900mAh battery to support my bluetooth usage and can't use it. I know 3 other people at work who have the same phone and same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris.
