Default Password Keeper- Wireless Sync??? - 02-26-2008, 07:30 PM

Hi folks-

I was just in the process of trying to download Keepass for the BB, and the desktop version for Mac OSX so that I could have synced passwords. Despite searching over and over, I could never find the OTA download link. In addition, since I sync my BB wireless with my BES (and thus, never sync with the desktop application), I wasn't really looking forward having to deal with this.

Add on top that I'm forced to use the ever-flaky pocket berry for Mac, and I almost gave up.

Then, as I started checking out the built in app "password keeper", I looked at the options, and there it was: "wireless synchronization---YES".

So...where exactly is this syncing the file to? Does it mean that it's backed up wirelessly, or does it mean that somewhere in my Outlook software, there lives a copy that I can update on the PC side, as well as updating on the BB?

Thanks as always, gang,

-split

That wireless sync will only work with a BES. That way if you switch devices, when you activate the new devices your passwords are carried over.

There is no way to edit PK data except on the device. So I recommend you use Desktop Manager to do backups of your device....

It means your Password Keeper is backed up on the BES. As Juwaack said, if anything happens to your device there is a backup of everything on the BES. It's a great feature. You don't need to make backups with DM if you have wireless sync with BES. I use my Password Keeper heavily.

Default Restore Passwords from BES - 03-28-2008, 12:57 PM

My CIO lost her Bby, and when her new one prompted her to input her password for the Password Keeper, it told her that it was incorrect and asked her to create a new password (her description of events).

Would there be a way to get the old password data off of the BES back to her new device?

Thanks in advance.
