Default How do I transfer my treo info to BB 8830? - 02-26-2008, 09:24 PM

O.K. So I'm middle aged and a little slow, but I can't figure out how to transfer my calendar, contacts etc. from my palm based treo 660 to my new bb 8830. I'm a little confused with the bb software that came with my bb- does it not have it's own program that I can just sync from palm to bb? I know that there is a way to sync but it's not working- it says something like not enough memory and just gets frozen. Can I do it manually with the two devices? I don't know computer speak so bear with me. And thank you!!

There is a switch device wizard module in the Desktop Manager application (the CD that comes with the BlackBerry). You should be able to transfer everything that way.

If you have the Treo still, you can set the sync conduit to sync with Outlook, then setup the BB to sync with outlook, and you are all set..

I just did this a week or so ago. You have to connect your Treo and your BB to your computer. Then you run the "switch device wizard" from your desktop software. I had to do that twice before getting all the contacts and calendar entries over to the BB. By the way, I have over 800 contact entries, so maybe that is why it took two times.

I've tried the transfer but when it brings up my calendar (first item) it says "translation started" and then freezes. Any ideas?
