Default Question Regarding Receiving a Call on a att 8800 vs vzw 8830 - 03-21-2008, 05:50 PM

Ok so i have the att 8800, and my bro has the vzw 8830. When i receive a call on my 8800 i can use my scroller to accept or reject the call, whereas from him he has to use the send or reject button.

How do i get it so i am able to just use the buttons and not the scroller?

Is it theme oriented or do i need to update my BB.

BB Version is 4.2.1.108

CDMA phones don't have that option, because GSM handles the calls differently. There's nothing you can do to change the way that works on your 8830. The scenario you describe is normal behavior..

But the Curve from ATT is the same way as the 8830 from VZW...

I'm not sure what you mean by scroller to answer the call. I have the 8820 and had an 8310. When I get a call, I can only use the answer and end button to answer or reject a call. I have never seen where I can use the track ball to take a call.

Just tested this with an AT&T 8820:

If you press the Menu button when a call is incoming, you can scroll to Ignore or Accept the call.

Not a needed feature, but its there.

On my 8830 I push the Green Button To Answer the Call ... Or the Red Button to ignore it and send it straight to voicemail.

I had a 8800 through T-Mobile and you had to use the trackball to accept or ignore the incoming call. My 8830 with VZW you use the green or red buttons.

On the 8830 you can press the BB button to the left of the trackball and choose to accept or ignore. But it the same as pressing the green or red buttons.
