While downloading a message I did something and now I can't delete certain messages I have. I can use the delete key and delete new messages but the are some old ones that I can't get ride of. Any ideas?

Are you sure you did not treat the messages as 'saved message' ?
Please double check.

How about trying a battery pull? That sometimes work. Good luck.
