Default Switching Devices- from "broken" 8800 to 8820 - 03-26-2008, 02:41 AM

I ordered an 8820 to replace my "damaged" 8800. I know that there is a switch device wizard (I've used it before when going from my 8700 to 8100 to 8800 )-however,my 8800 has a damaged mini-usb port-such that not only can I not charge it without holding the mini-usb connector manually (oh for a few hours or so) BUT I also can not use the Desktop Manager at the moment (and have not been able to use it for about a month now....)

What will be the easiest way to transfer data from one to the other and to smoothly switch devices ? (I am not looking forward to the prospect of manually adding apps....).I'm not worried about contacts,etc-that stuff is up to date on the computer etc
