Default Device wil not unlock when phone is in use - 03-26-2008, 10:53 AM

I have a Verizon 8830 user (connected to our BES) that is having an issue when using the phone.

If he's talking on the phone and the device locks mid-call, he's unable to unlock it (e.g., to check his calendar) until he ends the call. The BB just whitescreens and he sees the hourglass.

I tried a hard reset with no luck.

Has anyone seen this before?
Thx.

It would seem that this would only happen if the Blackberry is password protected.

During the call press the full menu button and choose Unlock. It will then ask for your password.

The device is password protected as part of our IT policy.

If the device locks mid-call and he wants to unlock it, he selects Unlock, enters his password, and then clicks the trackball. The screen sits on the "Please Wait..." screen permanently until he ends the call.

It never unlocks for him so he can view his email, calendar, etc.
