Default Wiping 8830 account info, embedded #, to factory, pre-programme settings - 03-26-2008, 11:00 AM

Lately a friend of mine who grew tired with the "confusing" verizon 8830 and decided to ditch the phone and change carriers leaving this near mint condition bb to waste. Now is there anyway for me to wipe clean the phone to the point where I can take it in to verizon, setup a new number and account info even if the phone is locked and tied to a contract which hasn't been completely paid off. Long shot i know but i thought I'd ask.

Thanks,
Blair

Wirelessly posted (blackjack IV)

Until it is paid off I believe they will not activate it on another acct

Options>security>general settings>press menu/berry button> select wipe handheld

This will set phone to factory settings and remove all your friends info

Default Quick way to reset - 03-26-2008, 02:29 PM

If I am not mistaken - just enter the password wrong as many times as it prompts you for it and at the end it will self-destruct and reset.
