I just bought a bb 8800 and put a vodafone pay as you go sim card in. It says at the top of the screen data connection refused and i cannot get a map when i try to search anywhere. is there anything i can do.

Sounds like you do not have a blackberry data plan.

Data Connection Refused (as a "search" would have shown you) means you do not have a BlackBerry Data Plan. The BlackBerry is different than normal mobile phones.

You *may* be able to use som third party programs (like Opera Mini) to access the Internet, but you are going to have to find the APN information for Vodafone. I don't know what it is.
