Default Traded 8130 for 8830 last night its great so far - 03-27-2008, 09:36 AM

well option 94 I took yours and several others advice and went to the Verizon Stealer and played with the 8830. I am so glad i did. From the beginning it felt better in my hand, and the bigger screen is definitely a bonus. Some of the stuff is different but absolutly nothing wrong so far. I like the calendar better for sure. bigger battery is a good thing. nice case came with it. bonus

How about the Smart key versus QWERTY Keyboard?

what do you like better about the calendar? the app is virtual the same on the device, the screen is just larger. Suretype vs Full QWERTY is a matter of personal preference, some will like one over the other, some will like both.

I happen to like both suretype and qwerty. I didn't think the calender would be any different, either.

I'm glad your happy with your 8830 though.

Actually, there is a slight difference with the calendar, but it's because BB OS 4.3 is on the Pearl versus 4.2 on the 8830. The 4.3 calendar allows you to color-code your appointments and pin them to the mail account from which the invite was received. By default, all appointments are attached to your default mail account. This was very annoying and in certain cases (PocketDay, for example) calendar events not associated with the default mail account never showed up in PocketDay summaries. Plus there is no way to move the event from one mail account association to another once stored.

Not a big deal if you only have one email account going to your device.

Well hopefully the 8830 users will experience the 4.5 system when available.
