Default Wifi connection drops on 8820 - 03-27-2008, 10:57 PM

Having issues keeping my 8820 connected to my home DSL wireless router (2wire). I have 3 laptops I can take all over the house without losing signal, but my BB will disconnect and shows a -0db for signal. Is this a phone or router issue? Another unusual occurence is it will reconnect if I simply "look" at the Wifi Network Details....is there some settings I should tweak on the BB or is the wifi radio on these phones weak?

Ive had my 8820 just a couple days so I dont have alot of experience yet with it, but I have also had a few drops. And the phone was literally 2 feet from the router. The two or three times it has dropped I was also using the bluetooth. So I will continue to experiement and see if this is a frequent occurence. I also dropped once when my internet shut down for several minutes. So I wonder if there is a short spike in the internet service where it shuts off and on quickly, that you might get drops.

Default Anyone found a solution to this? - 07-23-2008, 12:06 AM

I'm having the same problem. What happens for me is that I will be able to connect for about 2 minutes, then it drops. I can turn off wifi, connect again, and same thing will happen.

Anyone have any good news on this? It is painful, particularly when I'm overseas and could use the wifi coverage versus cell coverage.

Thanks,
Jana
