I put it on my T-Mobile 8800 a couple of weeks ago, and it works great. It looks like it even solved a few nuance issues I had. As mentioned, you have to delete the vendor.xml file or the Desktop Manager will not recognize that an update to the OS is available for install.

Default install problem - 05-10-2008, 09:58 AM

I have downloaded the os file... it says TIM Italy...?
Every time I click to install it gives me an error... trouble with initialization file?
Any suggestions?

Did you delete the vendor.xml files as instructed in the first post?

The TIM OS will work on any 8800 model, as long as the instructions above are strictly observed and performed.

I would recommend downloading the OS fresh again, install it, and follow the instructions above.

I'm having the same problem with this upgrade. I have in-/re-installed three times now and deleted the vendor.xml file as instructed, but the destop does not prompt to update the OS on my 8800. Help!!!

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

The first line of the post says it all. 8800 only.

It won't work on any other device.
