Default Losing Messages...Please help - 03-31-2008, 04:10 PM

For the second time in the last week, I have gone into my message folder to retrieve an old message only to find all of them erased! When I go into "messages", I just see at the top * No Messages*.

Anyone know why these are getting deleted occasionally. I have my option to keep messages set to "forever", and I don't recall anything happening to the BB. I just sent a message 30 minutes ago,....now it and every other one for the last 5 days is gone. Any suggestions?

Most likely it is low memory.

Unfortunately, a number of us experience memory leaks with this model. Many of the interventions may increase your memory and slow down some of the leaking issues.

In the end, you will still need to do the "battery pull"

The advice I've seen posted here on the forum is that there is no clear line between ok and too low. Depends on applications and themes you have installed, partly. Others with more knowledge than me will tell you what they think is safe minimum.

I will answer in a somewhat indirect fashion. I have never let the memory get below 10 mb, and I have never had a problem.

I downloaded epocrates ( a medication guide ) and it had to be downloaded over the web, but it didnt ask me to specify a place to download to. I have a 4GB MicroSD in my BB. Is there a way to allocate that program to the card?

Probably not. Specific to the program, but using the media card is generally reserved to media (with some exceptions, and I do not know about Epocrates).

No there isn't all applications currently reside on the device memory not the media card. I know folks who run this program and it is large (9MB). MY suggestion is that you review and follow the thread to free memory to a "T" and that should give you enough room for the program and the other things you will want to do without losing data. My guess is your memory will be very low if you check it now. Menu>Options>Status (file Free).

Good Luck!
