Default 8800 Screen Autolock? - 04-01-2008, 08:40 AM

Is anyone aware of a way to have the phone autolock after a few seconds? I use the side button to lock the keypad now, but sometimes i forget to push it and redial the last number while the phone is in my pocket. I saw an option to have it autolock when holstered, but i dont use a holster.

thanks,

David

Go to options - security options - General settings.

You can lock as quickly as 1 min.

Blackberry's autolock is pretty damn useless when you use the BB media player as it totally cuts or crashes media player and you cannot resume from where you left off and the playlist is cleared.

I don't know about the RIM Media Player, but locking (Convenience key) while using XPlayer (Shape Services) or mediaPlayer (Dollars5) works fine. XPlayer version .73ish had some issues if I remember correctly but it's fine with 1.0 and above. Never used the autolock feature, though, as it would seem to be annoying while you where using it.

xPlayer works when the hand held is locked, however if you if enable content protection xPlayer freezes up I haven't tried the regular media player with content protection yet.

Also you can set your BlackBerry to auto-lock when holstered.
