Default T-Mobile 8820 with AT&T OS... - 04-02-2008, 05:05 AM

I have to tell you. I am getting a little annoyed with some of the pre-loaded shortcuts that is installed out of box (i.e. telenav free trial link, handango, facebook etc...) I thought I could get rid of them by using John Clarks' Memory Maximizer tutorial, but it didn't work. I couldn't find any files related to those links. I've tried to hide them, but even so, its annoying for me just knowing that they're still there. haha. Other than that, I LOVE THIS THING!!!

My question is, would I still be able to have UMA if I used AT&T's OS? Or does AT&T have those in there as well?

The OS does not get rid of the shortcuts to TN, Facebook, etc. That is pushed content from the carrier, not the OS. As a matter of fact, AT&T pushes about 6 additional web shortcuts.

To hide them, I create a folder called "ATT Crap", then place all those shortcuts in it and hide the entire folder (so at least they are all together in one place when I have to SHOW ALL).

I've figured out how to delete those icons. Since you mentioned that those programs are pushed to my device from t-mobile, i started to think if they were service books. they did end up being service books. Deleted the service books and now the icons are gone. YEAH. I just hope they don't return.

On TMobile they don't seem to come back. On AT&T they do.
