I'm new to Blackberries and have just had one from Orange.

I'm trying to download Google maps, but my e-mail doesn't highlight on the link they've sent me, when I go to the Browser, there are no "Go To" or Bookmarks as per the user manual.

Would be grateful on any tips anyone has,

Hi - had trouble with google maps my self - same phone same carrier; got round it this way;

Step 0 - I updated the O.S. on my Orange 8820 and did the remove Vendor thing; To do this use the 'How to get BBMaps to show on my Blackberry thread'. Don't know if this was required - but I did it before installing Google Maps and BBMaps. Then;


1. Don't download over WiFi - it does not work
2. make sure you have the Browser set to Internet Browser (actually I am not really sure if this is required) Options>>Advance Options>>Browser>>Internet Browser
3. I got the SMS from google and could highlight the link OK, Click on this (ball or menu button) and select 'Get Link. Should open up OK. If not then go to 4
4. Open the BB Browser, Press the Menu button and select Go To..then type in the link to Google i.e "http://mobile.google.co.uk"

Seemed to work OK for me!

Does anyone have an idea why I can't highlight links and can't use Go To on the Browser, can only browse the homepage.
