Default Strange emails clogging my inbox - 04-17-2008, 01:16 PM

I recently changed my email address from a business address to one hosted by Time Warner (a roadrunner address). Now I get 60-100 emails a day to both my Blackberry and my computer with this strange message:

This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

The email is sent from network@etp..... and RIM_..... (lots of numbers and letters at the end of both places)

Does anyone know what I can do to stop these messages from coming?

I could attach the message, but I'm not sure that isn't something I should keep private.

Many thanks!
Katie

Thank you E! I always love how quick you can get answers on this forum!

AT&T entered the info for my new email addresses. First, how do I know if I am using Desktop Redirector? Where would I go to uninstall Desktop Manager?

Second, I went to the Service Book area on my Blackberry and I'm not sure what to delete. There are two items called Desktop. One with (CICAL) and the other with (CMIME). Then there are lists of my email addresses with either (CICAL) or (CMIME) at the end. Which ones do I delete?
Many thanks. I appreciate your help.

When you say hosted email. Do you mean a hosted BES service? If so we need to be careful with your service books. If you are 100% certain that you are using BIS then you want to delete the service books desktop[xxxxx] and the message will stop.

The Redirector is installed on a PC when you install the disk that came with the phone and answer that you want to set up your "work" email.

According to Time Warner I don't have hosted email. I have incoming and outgoing servers.

What do I do now?

Thanks,
Katie

Menu>options>Advanced Options>Service Books

Delete any and all service books starting with "Desktop" and you should be set!

Hard Reset (Battery pull with the device on)

Check to ensure the service books are gone after it reboots.

Hello to you both... I have a similar problem, and I'm not sure how to proceed.

I have both a BIS (gmail) account and a Redirected account through Outlook connected to my BB. When setting up the Outlook account (yesterday), I think at one point I THOUGHT I had a BES - but didn't. So I had sent the request, etc. So the annoying emails - is that from my Redirected account or from my err of trying to set up a BES? And then, how should I proceed?

Thanks in advance!

My problem did eventually did get solved, though I can't really remember what solved it. I followed suggestions on this board and called the blackberry help area through my phone carrier, AT&T. Good luck to you!
