I'm considering buying a BB 8830 from Sprint, but I'd like to get some input from some existing customers first. Pros, cons, likes, dislikes, good, bad or indifferent, fill me in please. Preferably from sprint customers. But all are welcome.

FWIW, I've had good luck with it, even with Sprint's *cough* legendary customer service. Of course I've got better things to do than try to scam their system. Good BB, good connections and service. I'm reasonably happy with it.

I really like my 8830 - no complaints with it whatsoever. I also use a persona 8130, and have found the trackball seems more 'solid' on the 8830.

I have a Sprint 8830 and, for the most part, have been happy. It does tend to lose data service occasionally (requiring me to turn off and then back on data service).

If you're using BES, you'll need the $40/month add-on. If you aren't using a BES server, then go with the $30 plan. It doesn't allow connecting to a BES server and does include Phone-As-Modem (which is another $15). But it does include unlimited text and free Sprint Navigation.

I've been told that Simply Everything does NOT include Blackberry service.

I was told different at my local sprint store. Now that does not mean that they are accurate. But I will make sure to double check, thanks for the heads up.

The Simply Everything plan includes BIS Blackberry service, not BES Blackberry server.

BES service is an additional $20.00.

I'm on Sprint with the unlimited data package (from work). Cost to the company is about $100 per month. Data speeds are great. I did a speed test with the 8830 connected to my laptop in the phone as modem mode and I can download at around 600k and upload at around 300k...maybe a little less. So it's very nice as an internet connection if there's no wifi around or a wired connection for my laptop.

The device itself seems well built, very attractive appearance and very easy to use. track ball is wonderful.

P.S. BATTERY!!! As with my old 8703, the battery life in the 8830 is simply amazing. I just got rid of a HTC Touch and I was lucky if the battery had half it's life left by 3pm each day, with very minimal use! I can use the 8830 twice as much throughout the day than the HTC and the 8830 has maybe 80 percent or more of it's battery life even around 7pm or later! It's is nuclear or something? :D

Just picked up my 8830 on Sprint last week and love it! Was a Sprint Treo user since the first Treo came out and the 8830 is far superior and no problems so far with Sprint.

I recieved my 8830 Friday and have been doing my best to figure out the platform. So far I really enjoy it!!!

One quick question though: Why do messages get "stuck" on my home screen? They have been deleted from the inbox or sent folders, but still show up on the home screen. The only way I can get rid of them is to remove the battery!

I had this happen, once, last week. Otherwise, this has not been a problem.

You should check with delete settings for each of your mail accounts. Within Messages application, go to Options, and then Email Reconciliation. Make sure that every account (Message Services) is set to Delete On (Prompt or On).

I doubt this is it, but it's worth checking.

What theme are you using? The built-in Dimension Today theme, I'm guessing.

I wish I could say that I've had the same luck with my battery. It seems to be running down kinda fast, but I'm thinking that this is because I may have a lot of things running in the back ground.

I set the email applications to delete on prompt. Also it is the Dimension Today Theme that i'm using.

Programs running in the background will burn the battery. Close as many apps as possible -- leaving just the few required ones running.
