Default Traveling international with BB 8830 - 05-05-2008, 01:16 PM

i'm going to be traveling to the uk and paris and this will be my first time using my BB overseas; I have a couple of questions:

1) which apps dont use bis? is "yahoo! go" one of those apps?
I dont want to really pay for the international plan because this is in the middle of my cycle and ive experienced too many times the sting of sprint cs.

2)will google maps or Blackberry maps work if I buy a sim card there( with data)?

3) what's the best service provider(in terms of price and coverage)?

4) if i do opt for the international plans does that automatically turn on voice too?

thanks in advance, i'm a total noob when it comes to using the bb overseas

I can only address #4: Yes, it will activate voice as well.

As for Sprint cs and the middle of a monthly cycle, they treated me just fine on almost exactly the same deal.
