Default help with 8820 - 05-06-2008, 12:19 PM

Hey guys...

i'm trying to figure out whats wrong with one of my clients BB, and for the life of me i cant figure it out... here are the specs... t-mobile unlocked 8820... The device was suppose to be "brand new" but wasnt... i have already had RIM release the PIN and IMEI.... hes on fido and has the needed blackberry connect plan in his account, has a new SIM card, and entered all the TCP settings, made sure data was on under options> mobile network> data on. had him go to options> advance otions> host routing table> register now (tho nothing is in there) and for some odd reason the device will not register on the network and give him EDGE, only GSM... i have troubleshooted everything i can that i can think of... i have even had him call the carrier and made sure everything was good in his account to make sure there are no blocks that are not allowing him access to the internet... and still nothing...

any ideas?

Call the carrier yourself I have had instances where they said everything was fine in the account and it wasn't. Really depends on a roll of the dice whether you get someone on the phone that knows what they are doing or not. Call them back and be persistent about the issue, ask for higher level tech. support until you get someone to fix it.

I agree, it sounds like a botched activation. Soem of these people do not know what they are doing. Call them and have them confirm they have it set up right

K well I called, the client gave me authorization on his account, and I walked the rep thru what I needed him to do lol that was funny, he's ike how do you know all this lol.

Anyways hopefully everything fixes it if not could it a proble with the OS as I have never seen a BBs radio go down like that. There is no reason why he shouldn't be getting EGDE.

What do you guys think?
