Default Alerts in my Calendar not popping up or notifying me. - 05-09-2008, 08:25 AM

I put items in my Calendar for reminders and appointments and they used to pop up and vibrate the phone as a reminder, now nothing pops up anymore and I'm missing appointments and my reminders!

I played with the profile settings in vibrate and normal trying to get it to do something but not only does it not vibrate, the message that used to pop up and give me a warning doesn't happen anymore. It's really frustrating because I'm missing things now that I need reminders to do. I missed a really important conference call because of this dumb thing.

Can anybody tell me if there is a setting that has been shut off to notify me or something that I am missing?

Did you do a search? I have seen the same question asked over the last couple of weeks. Don't remember the fix however.

I did a search but it didn't really give me a whole lot. The only thing said was try the latest operating system. 4.2.2.196 is what caused these problems. So I tried to downgrade to the old one but for the life of me I can't remember how to make it do that. It just keeps updating the stupid software thats on my computer not my blackberry.

I'm so screwed without this calendar working it's killing me. I'm gonna have to get rid of this thing soon if this is how it's gonna be... aargh.

you were on the right track.
Go back into profiles
scroll all the way down to advanced...select
click on your active profile (usually "Normal")

Here you can change the setting for the notifications and tones. Also Note that there is a completely different set of settings for when your phone is in the holster, and when it is not.

Hope this helps

Default Checking your settings - 05-10-2008, 07:37 AM

You can click on Normal or what ever setting you wish to use and change the setting for it. Make sure you have a different type of setting for your e-mail than you have for your appointents or you will be thinking that it is an e-mail going off when you are actually mising an appointment.
