Default Uninstalling Opera 4.1 Beta - 05-20-2008, 07:54 PM

Hey guys,

I just realized when I went to uninstall Opera 4.1 Beta, it's not in the Application List! Nor is it listed on the Desktop. It does have an icon on my Berry (8830), and runs just fine.

What do I do to get rid of it?

You may have to uninstall it through Desktop Manager. Since I have a Mac and am not familiar with that software, someone else will need to step in and explain the process to you.

I did pop open Desktop Manager and I didn't see it listed in there either :(

Have you tried to just install the new version over the top of the Beta? My version 4.1 that I installed yesterday is in the apps list and has a delete option. The caveat is I was not using Beta prior to the install.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Brewkatz,
Great suggestion. My recollection tells me that that one will NOT override the other. I hope I'm wrong.

Plan B: There is a folder in your PC which keeps your operating system.

There may be a sub folder for third party apps, look there. Also do a search for Opera Mini in your PC. If you downloaded initially OTA, then my suggestion will help you find the associated file to remove.

You would then hook your device to DM and click the app loader.

This folder?

C:\Documents and Settings\Patrick Miller\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync

I couldn't find anything in there, nor could I with a search.

Installing the new version just made 2 copies. I'm going to try reinstalling the beta next.

Edit: Got it! I hunted down a copy of the exact beta build I had, reinstalled from JAD, and was able to uninstall it.
