Question German Characters - 05-25-2008, 12:23 AM

Hi all,

I have a BB 8800 since a few months and I'm quite happy with it (works much more stable than the the E61 I used before).

Actuall I had no big troubles with it, only some setup issues for BB Maps (t-Mobile fixed the connection) and Map4all (seems that automatic selection of the connection is causing problems in Austrian T-Mobile networks. I had to Switch to HTML Mode).

But since the beginning I was wondering how to put german Characters (like ö, ä, ü, ß) into messsages. The BB has no dedicated keys for those and the German manual does not mention it.
ACtually the problem are not the messages, as I can write ae, oe, .. etc. instead but in Nav4All or BB Maps I need that as I'm using the german version and when I don't have the exact zip code with me it does not accept the Englisch City names (like Munich instead of München) or the ae, oe, ... etc. versions.

Does anyone has a suggestion for me, how to do that (actually I don't want to switch to the english version of Nav4all as I don't know all the English names of German, Austrian and Swiss cities by hard )

Cheers

KoH

KoH, enter the alternative characters ny pressing the related alpha character, and rolling the trackball at the same time.
