It should... ALT + RIGHT shift + Delete.

That has worked every release of 4.5 of which I have been privy.

Myself and one of my co-workers both have AT&T 8800's and it does not work for us and we are using the right shift key. Anyone else see this issue?

Thanks,

Mark

Default Send Using error - 06-30-2008, 09:34 AM

Hello, I just updated last night, and everything went fine. I did not have the reboot problem that people are reporting and the installation of "Documents To Go" fixed my java exception issue when launching JiveTalk. I wish "Documents To Go" was checked by default!

However, I am seeing a problem with "Send Using" when replying to email. I cannot seem to change the sent from email address to one of my other emails. Clearly, it's a selectable option because a hilight box surrounds the "Send Using" field, but I cannot seem to switch the email - none of my other email addresses shows up as a selectable option when scrolling the wheel. Before this update, my other emails would show up in a drop down box.

I have resent my Service Books, and I have verified that I do receive emails to my other addresses. Interestingly, the Crossriver application "PD Reply As New" works and accomplishes this same functionality, but I do not want to use it because it has the annoying issue where it places the cursor at the very end of the email so that you have to scroll all the way back up to the top to change the "Send Using" field. How ironic and annoying is that?! Incidentally, is there a keyboard shortcut to quickly goto this field or at least the top of an email?

Does anyone else have this "Send Using" problem? Please help, I need this feature!

Thanks in advance,
-conker

Send Using is not changeable when replying to emails. I didn't think it was changeable in 4.2.1 either but it's been a long time since I've used it.

Edit: Actually, it's likely that you were on an older version of BIS (when that was available) and now your BIS version on Cingular has been updated to 2.5.

I actually tried the ALT+ Right Shift and Delete...and it did reboot, I think in the past it was maybe left shift?

I held the ALT Key, located on the left side of the keyboard, then I use my other finger to hold the right Shift (which is tthe one that has "CAP" labelled) and then finally the Del key on the right..all keys holding at the same time and it works like a charm! Thank you.

When you say never do you mean never in 4.5 or never ever? I ask because I only learned this shortcut on this thread and it worked on my 8800 with 4.2 using left shift

There is a thread on the Beta You Than Me forum on how to get BBMap working again.

So I installed over my existing 4.2.1 and it went quite smoothly for the most part. Google Maps that was pre-installed looked like it was going to get stuck at 10%, but after Enterprise Activation completed it is working now (as is Live Search). I'm on Rogers so no problems with BBMaps. This is on BES with a few personal accounts also synched using Rogers BIS.

My only issue from the upgrade is that my calendar items are duplicated on the BB (thank god it didn't replicated back to Outlook/Exchange). Any ideas on the best way to remedy this? Can I do a re-synch of my BES calendar only?

Thanks all for the useful info on this thread and elsewhere.

Oh, and one other quick question ... I notice that 2007 DST Patch still shows both in app loader and in the settings page. Can I remove this safely? I'm assuming that this would be in the core OS update.

Known bug in .37. Hopefully very soon you will be able to upgrade to a newer version, OR in your browser options > General Properties > UNcheck Enable cursor in column view.

TeritaM, if you read all of my post about memory optimization you'll see I mention that that happens when removing voice dialing. You can use alt + rt cap + h to get basically the same info.
