Default AHH! Messages/call log disappearing - 06-16-2008, 10:19 PM

So..I've had my phone for a year now to be exact, and I've heard of the call log wiping usually due to lack of memory/space. Well I haven't installed anything new and have actually deleted anything extraneous. Only have a couple pictures..no music or any sort of media or files. I've reset ( soft and hard )and done everything; but the last 4 days or so I have no call logs (4 or 5 will show up then disappear) my BBM conversations just delete themselves, and some SMS. No clue what to do!

Any help or suggestions would be great!

Thank you =)

Please look in Options >Status and post your "file free."

Also, do you use the "Switch Applications" feature often?

File Free is 392371 bytes

I don't use it often, I've only used it lately 2-3 times during a call to view messages, etc. I always use the "alt + back" button and close out apps not in use as well.

Well, that explains it. You are out of memory. That's less than 1MB. Anything less than 10MB is getting pretty low.

Follow the guides here:

You'll need to do a lot more, or you'll be back in the same boat very soon.

good luck.

I stopped my gmail from auto-forwarding to my @vzw.blackberry.net email address and just loaded the gmail app on there. And I deleted two other email account's months worth of messages. maybe i should get a micro SD and store all emails and pictures on there if possible. Again though, I only have several pictures.

thanks again

First, it's not possible to store your email on the card.

Second, your emails, unless you have 5-7MB worth (highly unlikely) are not the problem. You actually lost space by installing the GMail app instead of just using BIS for email.

You need to follow the instructions in the links I posted above.

You'll have the same issue in a week or two if you don't.
