I switched over to the 4.5, and noticed that the sms was not working. After fidgeting around with my phone i finally got it to work.

these are the SMS Txt options i have on my phone.

Delivery Period - immediate
Priority - URGENT
disable auto text - No
Number of previous items - 7
Retries -3

I also reset my firewall settings (don't know if this helped or not)

After making the change in the priority setting i was able to txt cingular, and sprint customers.

I never had an issue with SMS

Thanks for the info. Changing the priority from normal to urgent was the key for me.

i love 4.5 aside from the fact that it takes FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR to reboot. omg seriously like 5+ mins

SMS works fine for me. Keeps dropping to evdo though.
