Default How to add input Language? - 07-11-2008, 07:07 AM

Hi!
Do anybody has any idea how to add additional input Language to Blackberry? My 8820 v.4.5.0.37 shows me all LATVIAN specific letters (with diacritical marks), but I have no idea how to input them. It's quite annoying to use allways PC to input or correct the name in the Contacts. Some applications, like MiniOpera, do have LATVIAN version (but only for reading).
Would be possible to add/replace LATVIAN letters in SYMBOLS, if no way to add the Language? Could any not-used language file manually edited for LATVIAN? How?

May be newer version software will be really multilingual? Any info?

InsekC, 8820 v.4.5.0.37

If the language is available at OS loading, you can make sure it is checked to load at that time.

Hi!
The main thing is, that LATVIAN language is NOT INCLUDED in any Blackberry installation package (even in those, called "multilanguage"). Even phones sold in LATVIA by provider BITE has only ENGLISH and RUSSIAN languages!!!

Has anybody played with installation package using any editing soft (notepad) to change/ add letters from SYMBOLS font?

Has anybody tried to edit any not-used language file in installation package to get a additional LANGUAGE?

Hi!
Nobody have played with LANGUAGE or SYMBOL fonts?

Yesterday I upgraded my 8820 to v4.5.0.46.
Everything is fine except LANGUAGES. Catalan and Basque are included, but Baltic and Scandinavian languages still missing......

Latvian isn't presented in 8820's firmware so it's impossible.

So... I have an 8830 with Verizon here in US. Downloaded and installed new 4.5.XXOS and love it. However, I would REAAAALLLLLY love to be able to type in Russian.

Didnt see option for it when i installed new OS. Any suggestions on how to get that on there??

Thanks.
