Upgraded to this 4.5 from the Vodaphone 4.5. With the Vodaphone 4.5, a VM icon would appear upon reboot. With this 4.5, my VM icon won't ever go away, even after adding/removing voicemails from the phone.

Any thoughts on how long before we see AT&T have a specific version for users in the US that we can download from blackberry.com? I prefer to play it safe but have been waiting for 2 years for an update to my 8800.

Two years? Why? No one ever targeted OS 4.5 out before this past winter, six months ago.

No one knows when, could be tomorrow or September 12. Take a guess.

Also, just because AT&T releases it doesn't mean it's "safe." There have been plenty of bugs in AT&T released firmware versions in the past.

I remember a certain OS version (4.2.0.71) for the 8100 that allowed the browser and other items to be deleted if the device was plugged into Desktop Manager. So, an AT&T release doesn't guarantee anything. For all you know, AT&T could release this very version. My bet is on .52 or .55 but it could be any version they choose. You are MUCH better off to read through these threads for known/found issues and if it looks good to everyone then go for it.
